The Cincinnati Bengals have extended their partnership with WKRC-TV (CBS Channel 12) for three (3) more seasons.
WKRC-TV will continue to serve as the flagship station for Bengals Preseason Telecasts and the seventeen (17) "Bengals Weekly" shows that air during the regular season. The new deal will cover the 2002, 2003 and 2004 NFL seasons. The Bengals will continue to handle all production and sales for the broadcasts.
Bengals President Mike Brown joined WKRC-TV Vice President and General Manager Christopher Sehring in making the announcement today. The 2002 season will mark the 13th season in the last 14 years that WKRC-TV has served as the flagship station for Bengals football.
"We're happy to continue the long-standing partnership with Channel 12," said Brown. "CBS is home for AFC Football and we are pleased to work with Channel 12 in providing our fans a consistent source for all their Bengals television programming."
In addition to presenting the Bengals preseason schedule for the 2002-04 seasons, WKRC-TV will also air the half-hour "Bengals Weekly" show at 11:30 a.m. each Sunday during the regular-season. The show also airs at Paul Brown Stadium during home games on the two large video screens as well as the 560 other television monitors throughout the facility.
"We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with the Cincinnati Bengals," said Sehring. "WKRC has enjoyed its partnership with the Bengals for well over a decade. Extending our relationship yet another three years by televising the preseason games and the weekly specials - matched with the proven success of the "NFL on CBS" - surely promises a winning combination for area football fans." The on-air talent lineup for the preseason broadcasts and weekly show will be announced at a later date.
