The Bengals signed tight end Jordan Franks off the practice squad Tuesday while placing tight end Mason Schreck on the Reserve/Injured list, and signing linebacker Brandon Bell to the practice squad. Schreck, believed to have torn his ACL Sunday night, joins starting tight end Tyler Eifert (ankle) on season-ending injured reserve while tight end Tyler Kroft (foot) figures to be lost until after the Nov. 4 bye and has missed the last two games.

 Franks, a rookie out of the University of Central Florida, signed with the Bengals as a college free agent this year. He played in all four pre-season games and had two receptions for 19 yards and one special teams tackle. He was waived after preseason on final cuts and then signed to the practice squad, where he spent the team's first seven games.

  Schreck, a second-year player who was the Bengals' seventh-round draft pick last year, ended his season on IR for the second straight year. He played in six of the team's first seven games (no statistics after spending his entire rookie season on IR following a knee injury in the third pre-season game of 2017.

 Bell, a first-year player, originally signed with the Bengals as a college free agent out of Penn State University in 2017. As a rookie last season, he spent the team's first 13 games on the practice squad before signing to the active roster and playing in the final three contests, recording seven tackles on defense and three tackles on special teams. He played in all four of the Bengals' pre-season games this year, with one start, and had 12 tackles on defense and three on special teams. He was waived on final cuts and has not been with another NFL team.
