The Bengals today re-signed CB Darqueze Dennard to a one-year contract.
A sixth-year player in 2019, Dennard originally was the Bengals' first-round draft pick in '14. He had become an unrestricted free agent on March 13, the start of the new league year.
Dennard played in 13 games (nine starts) last season, recording 67 total tackles (53 solos) on defense, as well as six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. His tackle total ranked fourth on the team.
Dennard has played in 68 games (19 starts) in his five pro seasons. During that time, he has logged 214 tackles (158 solos) on defense with three interceptions (one returned for a TD), 17 passes defensed, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He also has recorded 23 tackles (17 solos) on special teams.
