The Bengals opened business Friday morning before the first practice of their rookie minicamp when they waived four college free agents that didn't pass the physical:
Cornerback Derrius Brooks of Western Kentucky, outside linebacker Julian Miller of West Virginia, guard-tackle Mike Ryan of Connecticut and tackle Landon Walker of Clemson.
They also added three tryout players before the first of the five practices with tackle Billy Murphy and defensive back Taiedo Smith of Kentucky and University of Cincinnati defensive end Steve Hancock. Murphy is from Gamaliel, Ky., and attended Monroe County High School. Also it looks like there could be at least one signing of a draft pick during the day.
The camp's tryout players are from as close as Clifton and the University of Cincinnati and as far as Australia and all points in between.
Joining former University of Cincinnati quarterback Tony Pike is Chris Bryan, a punter from Melbourne, Victoria who has had a couple of NFL tryouts.
Also on the list is Louisville tight end Josh Chichester via the Cincinnati suburb of Westchester and Cincinnati cornerback Reuben Haley. But Chichester opted to go tryout with the Saints.
Other hopefuls are New Mexico safety Bubba Forrest, Eastern Kentucky safety Patrick McClellan, Kansas State linebacker Emmanuel Lamur, William and Mary linebacker Jake Trantin, Vanderbilt tackle Kyle Fischer, Arkansas tackle Grant Freeman, Colorado tight end Ryan Deehan, Delaware defensive tackle Matthew Hardison, Illinois defensive tackle Craig Wilson, and Georgetown University defensive end Andrew Schaetzke.
