With the Bengals trying to get their beleaguered secondary set before the practice week starts Wednesday, they signed safety Tony Dye to the practice squad Tuesday. The Bengals let him go after he played in all of this past preseason's games, with one tackle and one pass defensed. They signed the 5-10, 205-pound Dye as a free agent out of UCLA last year and he spent the season on injured reserve with an ankle injury sustained in training camp.
It's also believed the Bengals worked out veteran safety Chris Crocker on Tuesday morning, but there was no word on his status.
