INJURIES
CIN: OUT: WR Marvin Jones (knee) didn't practice all week while working on the rehab field and misses his second straight game. S Reggie Nelson (hamstring) also didn't work all week while rehabbing and is doubtful. CB Dre Kirkpatrick (thigh) didn't practice Friday after being limited Thursday and is questionable. Centers Jeff Faine and Trevor Robinson (hamstring) were limited Thursday but went full Friday and are probable. Same with S Taylor Mays (knee) and LB Dan Skuta (thumb).
NYG: OUT: Backup S Kenny Phillips (knee) after not working all week. Same with backup CB Michael Coe (knee) and backup SLB Jacquian Williams (hamstring). Starting RG Chris Snee (ankle) didn't work Wednesday and Thursday, went limited Friday and was questionable. Also questionable Friday after being limited was backup WLB Keith Rivers (calf). Four regulars went back to practice Thursday in limited fashion. WR Hakeem Nicks (knee), who is probable after he was limited Friday, RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), questionable after he didn't work Friday, MLB Chase Blackburn (hamstring), probable after going full Friday, and DT Chris Canty (groin), probable after going full Friday.

THE SERIES
Bengals lead, 5-3; 5-0 in Cincinnati, 1-0 at PBS
NOTEWORTHY
» Of all the teams that were in the NFL and AFL in Cincinnati's first season of 1968, the Bengals have played the Giants the least. The only teams they've played less are the most recent expansion teams, the 17-year-old Panthers (four) and the 10-year-old Texans (seven).
» The last time the Giants came to Cincinnati when they were Super Bowl champions, the 1-11 Bengals dealt them a crippling blow for a playoff spot in a 27-24 loss on Dec. 1, 1991 that dropped the champs to 7-6 when cornerback Mitchell Price returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown to highlight Cincy's 17-point fourth quarter. Giants QB Phil Simms outdueled his future CBS colleague Boomer Esiason with three TDs and 296 yards, but Esiason got the win with 204 yards and a TD.
» Three of the last four games in the series have been decided by a field goal or less. Every game but one has been decided by seven points or less.
» In the only blowout of the series, Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson threw TD passes of 58, 47 and 30 yards at Riverfront Stadium to beat Joe Pisarcik's Giants, 30-13, on Nov. 27, 1977 on just 5-of-11 passing for 154 yards.
» The first time the time the Bengals played the Super Bowl champs they met a team from New York. But it was the Jets that beat them, 21-7, on Oct. 12, 1969 at Nippert Stadium even though Sam Wyche matched Joe Willie Namath with a TD pass and interception.
» The only Bengal left from Giants QB Eli Manning's PBS debut on Dec. 26, 2004 is LE Robert Geathers. There are two other Giants that played in that game in right end Osi Umenyiora and right tackle David Diehl. Snee was on the club but injured.
» Tom Coughlin was one of the candidates the Bengals interviewed before they hired Marvin Lewis on Jan. 14, 2003. Coughlin had just been fired by the Jaguars, three weeks after his last win for Jacksonville came in Cincinnati, 29-15. The Giants hired him a year later.

» Flyover: The 179th Airlift Wing out of Mansfield, Ohio. This unit recently returned from deployment overseas. They will be flying a C27J Spartan aircraft that is currently deploying in support of disaster relief efforts on the East Coast due to Hurricane Sandy.
» Halftime: Around the League in 180 Seconds presented by Local 12, the Verizon Toss-To-Win competition in the North End Zone, and recognition of the Ohio National Guard (groups that have been deployed and recently returned home, new recruits and recognition of bronze valor award winners).
MILITARY APPRECIATION
The Bengals and USAA Insurance hosted 100 members of the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and the 371st Sustainment Brigade of the Ohio National Guard at practice on Friday, October 12. Guests were given a gift bag, watched practice, and then had an opportunity to interact with the team. Members of the Brigades received tickets to the Giants vs. Bengals military appreciation game.
At the game, the Ohio National Guard will deliver the team mascot, Who Dey, to the field in a Humvee. The Adjutant General of Ohio will deliver the coin for the coin toss and preside over pregame ceremonies, including the Honor Guard and National Anthem. During the Anthem, National Guard members will hold a large American flag and fans will perform a card stunt. The Military Appreciation Activities begin at approximately 12:30 p.m., so we ask you to enter the stadium early to take part in supporting our troops.

HOLY BATMOBILE!
In advance of the home entertainment release of the film The Dark Knight Rises, a display of all seven Batmobiles from the Batman movies dating back to the 1960s will make a stop at PBS this Sunday. If you are coming to the game be sure to stop by Gate C on the Plaza Level to check them out. No game ticket is required to view the Batmobiles, which will be on display from 10 a.m. through the duration of the game.
