Bengals QB Joe Burrow was awarded FedEx Air and Ground Player of Week 9. The weekly honor is voted on by fans, selecting the top two offensive performances of the previous week out of the six nominees.
Burrow completed 27-of-39 passes for 251 yards and five touchdowns. Eagles RB Saquon Barkley was the other player honored this week.
Week 9 marks the second time Burrow has received the award, the first coming in Week 5.
The FedEx Air & Ground Awards have been in existence for over 20 years. FedEx works with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to make donations of $2,000 in the names of the two winning players ($4,000 total) to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country every week. The company has donated more than $300,000 to HBCU's over the past three seasons, per NFL.com, and the awards program has donated nearly 3 million dollars to various non-profits through its existence.
Burrow is the second Bengal to win an award for his Week 9 efforts, after DE Trey Hendrickson was awarded AFC Defensive Player of the Week earlier Wednesday.
