Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green (knee) returned to the field Thursday morning and went full. So did, for the first time this week, starting left tackle Andrew Whitworth (back), starting safety Reggie Nelson (groin), and rotational defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry (thigh).
Defensive tackle Pat Sims (hip) didn't work for the second straight day and that could mean Brandon Thompson plays in his first game of the season Sunday (1 p.m.-Cincinnati's Channel 12) in Baltimore. Also out was starting right tackle Andre Smith (buttocks), while rookie backup defensive tackle Marcus Hardison (knee) returned to practice in limited fashion for his first work since getting hurt in the pre-season finale. SLANTS AND SCREENS: The Ravens are 8-1 in their last nine home openers with the Bengals' 23-16 victory last season the only blemish. It is the only home September loss for coach John Harbaugh, which is why Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has a 17-9 record (.654) in September. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton comes in even better at .688 (11-5) . . .
The Ravens haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 28 straight games. The last Bengal do it was Cedric Benson in the 2009 sweep . . .
