The Bengals today waived rookie G Steven Vieira of UCLA.

Vieira was activated to the 53-player roster yesterday from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. He was not medically cleared to practice for preseason or the early regular season, due to a severe foot sprain he suffered in minicamp on April 30.

Vieira originally signed with the Bengals on April 28 as a college free agent. If he clears waivers, he is eligible to sign as a free agent with another team, or to be signed to an NFL practice squad.
