For the second straight week the Bengals are looking at high winds having an effect on their game when they play the Browns on Sunday (1 p.m.-Cincinnati's Channel 12) at Paul Brown Stadium.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio is calling for winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour gusting to 35 miles per hour out of the south and east to go along with the high chance of showers in 66-degree temperatures. At mid-afternoon there is a 50 percernt chance of thunderstorms.
It looks like the Battle of Ohio and the Battle of the AFC North is going to unfold before a sea of ponchos and rain gear. No umbrellas are allowed in the stadium.
The weather service is also calling for severe weather in late afternoon and the Bengals issued the following statement:
"Paul Brown Stadium is aware of the potential for inclement at (Sunday's) game, and there are plans in place to address that situation – a practice that is in place for all home games. The Stadium will coordinate any required actions with local public safety authorities, the National Weather Service and the National Football League. Appropriate communication plans will also be in place to inform and assist patrons at the game, as well as informing the media and the general public."
Last week the Bengals lost in overtime in Baltimore during a game that featured winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour. Their 13-6 victory over the Patriots back on Oct. 6 at PBS ended in a sudden rainstorm that blew through at the two-minute warning.
