Bates Nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week

Safety Jessie Bates is one of five players to be nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 8.

Bates' 21-yard pick-six gave him three interceptions on the season. The second-rounder is chasing the club rookie record for picks with five that is owned by a range of folks starting with Lemar Parrish in 1970 and ending with Leon Hall in 2007.

Fans can vote for Bates on www.nfl.com/rookies through Friday at 3 p.m.

The Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
