Bengals Content Team Nominated for Seven Regional Emmys

The Bengals content team racked up seven regional Emmy nominations for The Ohio Valley Chapter, ahead of the awards ceremony on July 20 in Lexington.

"An Everlasting Flame | Ken Riley" produced by Shea Stephenson, was nominated in the historical/cultural/nostalgia category, as it details the story of the late Bengals great's journey to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Stephenson was also nominated for her feature on Bengals Walter Payton Man of the Year, center Ted Karras' community endeavors in the human interest genre. In "It Takes a Village," viewers discover how the Cincy Hats project turned into much more than merchandise, as Karras uses his platform to support the Village of Merici.

"From Cowboy to Bengal – Logan Wilson's Journey" produced by Marisa Contipelli, Luke Johnson and Will Laterza, took viewers to Wilson's hometown of Casper, Wyoming. In this feature nominated for best sports story, you heard from Wilson's coaches, parents and those who shaped him into the man he is today, as Wilson also shared his sentiment for his My Cause My Cleats and SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) research.

The Bengals also had two shows nominated for best sports program. "From The Jungle: Bengals All Access," led by Grant Gilkeson, is the teams in-house docuseries told through the voices of the players, coaches and staff providing fans with an all-access look into the team. "Bengals Weekly: AFC Championship Playoff Special" produced by Contipelli and Stephenson, also garnered a nomination, as this special re-lived the Bengals thrilling Divisional Round win in Buffalo, and prepared fans for the teams return to the AFC Championship.

Nominated for the best sports open/tease were Johnson and Ben Buchnat for the segment before last season's Monday night Bengals-Rams game. The Bengals preseason television network got the nod for best live sporting event with the broadcast of last August's Bengals-Commanders game.

"I am extremely proud of our team on our record seven Emmy nominations," said Senior Producer and Team Reporter Marisa Contipelli. "To see our hard work come to life in these features and receive the recognition in a nomination is an incredible accomplishment in itself. Hopefully we'll bring home some hardware for each of our nominated pieces!"
