The Bengals today placed QB Jeff Driskel on the Reserve/Injured list and signed two players to the practice squad.

Driskel, a second-year player, suffered a hand injury in the preseason finale on Thursday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. He originally was a San Francisco sixth-round draft choice last year. He joined the Bengals prior to Week 1 last season as a waiver acquisition from the 49ers, and he spent his entire rookie season on the Bengals' 53-player roster, though he did not play in a game. He played in all four of the Bengals' preseason games this year, completing 14 of 21 passes for 164 yards, one touchdown, zero interceptions and a passer rating of 106.1. Also this preseason, he had nine carries for 63 rushing yards and a TD.

Players placed on the Reserve/Injured list after 4 p.m. on the day after the final roster reduction (meaning, after 4 p.m. yesterday) are eligible to return to practice after six weeks and to games after eight weeks. A maximum of two players can be returned.

The players signed to the practice squad are CB Sojourn Shelton and G Cole Toner, who both were waived by the Arizona Cardinals on final cuts on Saturday.

Shelton (5-9, 168), a rookie out of the University of Wisconsin, signed with the Cardinals as a college free agent on May 12. He played in three preseason games for Arizona, recording five tackles on defense.

Toner (6-7,300), a second-year player out of Harvard, was the second of two Cardinals fifth-round draft choices in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played in two games as a rookie last season, and he played in all four of the Cardinals' preseason games this year, with one start.
