Burrow, Chase and Hendrickson Show Out Thursday In Orlando | 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games Skills Showdown Recap

QB Joe Burrow, WR Ja'Marr Chase and DE Trey Hendrickson each competed in Thursday's Skills Showdown as a part of the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, Florida.

Burrow Passes The Test

QB1 for the AFC squad took the field first in "Passing The Test." The event had quarterbacks try to hit targets of various distances worth different point values in 40 seconds. However, the quarterback also had a partner who answered up to five trivia questions about current Pro Bowlers: For every question that was answered correctly, the quarterback would get an extra 10 seconds of throw time. So, quarterbacks could get 90 seconds to hit the targets.

Burrow's partner, Texans WR Nico Collins, only answered two trivia questions correctly, meaning Burrow had 60 seconds to run through the targets. In typical Burrow fashion, the quarterback was surgical, hitting every target before the one-minute clock ran out. He finished with 27 points in the event, coming up short of Detroit's Jared Goff's winning score of 44 points. Goff had 90 seconds to throw after Packers RB Josh Jacobs answered all five of his questions correctly.

"I felt like I had a little less time than everyone else," Burrow joked at the ESPN desk after his event.

Chase Leads Off In Catch Competition

It's only fitting the NFL leader in catches would compete in the catch competition. Satisfying Catches featured three players from each conference, a receiver, a tight end and a defensive back, running through a receiving gauntlet. Players had to haul in three one-handed receptions from a jugs machine, catch a pass wearing mascot hands then make a diving grab to complete the course. If they missed the diving catch, they would have to run through a short obstacle course.

Chase served as the first leg in the competition for the AFC and immediately got to work. He went three-for-three on one-handed receptions and caught the second pass he saw with the mascot hands. The LSU product couldn't haul in the diving reception, but he still got through the course in just over 30 seconds. The AFC ended up losing the event though, as Chase, Texans CB Derek Stingley Jr. and Raiders TE Brock Bowers couldn't beat the NFC's 1:57 time.

Hendrickson Dodges, Ducks, Dips, Dives and Dodges

Hendrickson competed in the night's marquee event, dodgeball. There were two dodgeball games, with both conferences fielding two teams. Hendrickson played on the second AFC team, looking to sweep the event after the first AFC squad won. Colts' G Quenton Nelson tried his best to fight for a win as the last AFC man standing, but his ball was caught by Cowboys' G Tyler Smith to secure the win for the NFC.

Burrow talked with ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, Laura Rutledge and Ryan Clark during the dodgeball event, analyzing the competition.

"Big guys can't throw it quite as hard," Burrow said of Nelson's last throw. "He lost a lot of connectivity in the ground right there."

AFC Trails Going Into Sunday

The AFC team trails 14-7 going into Sunday's Flag Football Game, which will also feature three events during breaks in the action: Punt Perfect, The Great Football Race and Tug-of-War. Each competition is worth three points toward the team's final score in flag football. Though the NFC has an advantage early, AFC coach Peyton Manning isn't worried.

"We're in good shape. We've got Joe Burrow," Manning said at the end of Thursday night. "So actually this is kind of how I planned it."
