Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase today was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the team's 27-20 win at Dallas on Monday Night Football in Week 14.
Chase totaled a season-high 14 receptions for 177 yards and two TDs, including a 40-yard score with 1:01 remaining in the fourth quarter that proved to be the game-winner. He led all players in Week 14 in catches and receiving yards, and he was the only AFC player with multiple receiving TDs.
Chase's game-winner marked his 18th career TD of 40 or more yards, the most in the NFL since he entered the league in 2021. He also surpassed 5000 career receiving yards during the TD, and playing in his 58th regular-season game he tied former New Orleans WR Michael Thomas as the fifth-fastest player in NFL history to reach that milestone.
His first TD of the night came late in the first quarter on a five-yard pass from QB Joe Burrow. It was Chase's 14th receiving TD of the season, which surpassed his previous career high of 13 set during his 2021 rookie campaign. It also marked his 43rd career receiving TD, which moved him ahead of former New England TE Rob Gronkowski (42) for the fourth-most in NFL history within a player's first four seasons.
Chase's 14 receptions tied for the most by any player in a game this season, and were one shy of both his career high and the Bengals single-game record. He previously notched 15 catches in Week 5 of last season at Arizona.
Through Week 14's games, Chase leads the NFL in receptions (93), receiving yards (1319) and receiving TDs (15).
This is Chase's fourth career AFC Offensive Player of the Week award. He previously received the honor in Weeks 7 and 17 of the 2021 season and Week 5 of the '23 campaign. Bengals players have combined for 19 weekly honors (Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams) since the start of the 2021 season, tied for the third-most in the NFL in that span.
