Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and WR Tee Higgins were awarded FedEx Air and Ground Players of Week 17, the NFL announced today. The weekly honor is voted on by fans, selecting the top two offensive performances of the previous week out of the six nominees.
Burrow completed 39-of-49 passes for 412 yards, three passing touchdowns and a rushing score in the Week 17 victory over the Denver Broncos.
FedEx added wide receivers and tight ends as potential nominees for the 2024-25 season. Higgins caught 11 passes for 131 yards and three touchdowns, including the game winner in overtime.
It is Burrow's fourth time receiving the honor this season, previously winning in Weeks 5, 9 and 10. It is Higgins' first time receiving the honor this season.
The FedEx Air & Ground Awards have been in existence for over 20 years. FedEx works with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to make donations of $2,000 in the names of the two winning players ($4,000 total) to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country every week. The company has donated more than $300,000 to HBCU's over the past three seasons, per NFL.com, and the awards program has donated nearly 3 million dollars to various non-profits through its existence.
