The Bengals and the agent for center Rich Braham are still talking, but as of Wednesday afternoon they still didn't have a one-year deal.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is no doubt intrigued by linebacker Peter Boulware's release in Baltimore. The two have a relationship since Lewis oversaw Boulware's transition from All-American defensive end to Pro Bowl linebacker as defensive coordinator of the Ravens.
But if the Bengals are interested (indications are they have yet to contact his agent), they would have to figure out where to play him and how much to pay him since they are bumping up against the salary cap. Team leader Brian Simmons is in one outside backer spot, No. 1 pick David Pollack is in the other, and the Bengals already have 11 linebackers. Plus, two former Lewis linebackers have gone elsewhere this past month, Jamie Sharper to Seattle and Chad Brown to New England.
