Quan Cosby's inaugural Amazing Race was an absolute success. The adventurous afternoon event, modeled after the popular reality show, was held on November 28 at Hopewell Jr. School fields, in West Chester OH. All 15 teams completed the 1.5 mile course, which included tasks such as golf, field goal kicking, ACT questions and word scramble, to name a few.
The first place team: Team Stevens/Woods (Jessica Stevens, Bart Stevens, Kelsey Wood, Bruce Wood) finishing in 61:00 minutes, beating out Team Martin (Eric Martin, Kristen Martin, Megan Byrd, Angela Coppola) by a mere 19 seconds to walk away with the grand prize of tickets to a Bengals football game.
The Sporsmanship award goes to the Four Paws Animal Hospital Team (Kaitlin Church, Heather Ebent, Ashley McGilly, Rich Coleman), who got bogged down at the Bingo challenge and brought up the rear, completing the course in 112:04 minutes.
"I was thrilled with the turnout and the spirit of the participants," said Cosby, as he took photos and signed autographs. "They all had a blast. We are definitely doing this again next year."
Funds raised from the RACE will go towards Quan Cosby Adopt.A.High School Academic Initiative, which offers academic and SAT/ACT assistance to underserved students in area schools. Fore more information, QuanCosby.info.
