Biography

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft, Burrow has re-written the Bengals' record books in his four pro seasons ... Holds the team's single-season records for passing attempts (606; 2022), completions (414; '22), passing yards (4611; '21), TD passes (35; '22) and passer rating (108.3; '21) ... Also holds several team postseason career records, and led Cincinnati to appearance in Super Bowl LVI followed by second consecutive trip to AFC Championship in 2022 ... Currently is the NFL's all-time leader in completion percentage at 67.97 (minimum 1500 passing attempts) ... Was at full health in Weeks 5-10 of 2023 season, and in that stretch he led the NFL in completion percentage (74.1), ranked second in completions (146), second in passer rating (107.0), third in TD passes (12) and fourth in passing yards (1480) ... Suffered season-ending injury in Week 11 of 2023 and missed final seven games ... Signed five-year contract extension prior to 2023 opener that made him the highest-paid player in NFL history, based on average annual value (contract runs through 2029 season) ... Earned first career Pro Bowl selection in 2022 and was voted the FedEx Air Player of the Year ... Tied for second fastest player in NFL history to reach 1000 career completions (41 games), is the fifth fastest to 13,000 passing yards (48), and tied for sixth fastest to 90 TD passes (49) ... Named 2021 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, when he led league in completion percentage (70.4) and yards per attempt (8.87) after recovering from season-ending left knee injury in '20 ... In 2019 at Louisiana State, put together arguably the most successful single season ever by a college QB, when he won the Heisman Trophy by the largest margin in history, set numerous NCAA FBS and SEC records, and led the Tigers to a perfect 15-0 record and National Championship ... Native of Athens, Ohio, in southeast part of the state (roughly 2.5 hours from Cincinnati).
