Dezmon Briscoe

In the end, the Bengals did end up with a receiver named "Dez."

He turned out to be Dezmon Briscoe of Kansas, a junior who is a big receiver the Bengals like at 6-2, 207 pounds. They believe he's one of the best run after catch guys in the draft. He doesn't have a great 40 time (4.65), which is probably why he was available but he averaged nearly 16 yards per his 84 catches last year with nine touchdowns.

The pick puts more scrutiny on the 2008 second-rounder, Jerome Simpson, who has watched the Bengals add Briscoe, third-rounder Jordan Shipley, and free agents Matt Jones and Chris Davis.

The Bengals finished off the 2010 draft in the seventh round with the selection of Iowa State center Reggie Stephens, a 6-3, 338-pounder who started two years at guard before moving to center to reflect his reputation for being bright and versatile.
