1. "The teams opened with a 7-on-7 red zone period and Joe Burrow hit Mike Gesicki for a touchdown on the opening series. Later in 11-on-11 periods, Joe threw a pair of TD passes to Trenton Irwin."

2. "But overall, it was a tough day on offense — partly due to the rainy conditions that led to some fluttering passes and numerous drops. 'The ball was slick,' Burrow said. 'It was tough to throw it outside the numbers and down the field. But it was good to get that work in.'"

3. "The Bengals did have some nice runs, including this TD by Chase Brown through a big hole opened by Orlando Brown Jr and Cordell Volson. Zac Taylor said it was beneficial to practice in the rain 'I think it's good to learn what works and what doesn't in this environment.'"

4. "The defense opened the day with a pick as Germaine Pratt intercepted Caleb Williams' first pass. Cam Taylor-Britt and DJ Turner had PBUs later in the day. 'We went out there and competed all day,' Taylor-Britt said. 'I didn't see many explosives.'"

5. "It was great to see Charlie Jones back in uniform — he should be ready for the regular season opener. But it was tough to see Chris Evans and D'Ante Smith exit on carts with apparent leg injuries."
