Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow warms up before joint practice with the Indianapolis Colts at Kettering Health Practice Fields, August 20, 2024.

1. "Joe Burrow was sharp in the short to intermediate passing game, going 26-for-32 overall with 2 TD and 1 INT. After one precise throw where Tee Higgins high-pointed it, I heard a Colts safety yell, 'Oh s*!'"

2. "A few weeks ago, I posted video of Mike Gesicki practicing one-handed catches…it came in handy today. Gesicki had an excellent practice with 6 catches including a TD. 'He picked up the offense very fast,' said Zac Taylor. 'Understands the nuances and has chemistry with Joe.'"

3. "The most dominant rep I saw in the 1-on-1 pass rush drills belonged to Joseph Ossai. 'He's big, he's strong, he's athletic as he's always been, but now he's been able to work on his craft without rehabbing,' said Lou Anarumo. 'I have high hopes for Joseph.'"

4. " The first string defense made it rough on Colts starter Anthony Richardson, but 39-year-old Joe Flacco made a few plays against the Bengals' backups — including this TD run. 'He's a cigar store Indian — he stands in the pocket,' joked Vonn Bell. 'But he surprised us today.'"

5. " It ended with each side's 1st and 2nd team offensive getting one shot at a 2:00 drill. The Colts scored the only points on a 62-yard FG by Matt Gay. Evan McPherson missed a 55-yd try after a Logan Woodside-led drive, but earlier drilled a 51 yarder with abundant room to spare."
