1. Rookie WR Cole Burgess from SUNY Cortland in upstate New York has an unusual pre-practice warmup routine that gave me strong Michael Jackson "Smooth Criminal" 45-degree tilt vibes.

2. Awesome to see 4th round pick Erick All (Fairfield HS) cleared to practice nine months after tearing his ACL at Iowa. "I wasn't expecting it at all," Erick said. "I was thinking I was going to get cleared later down the road – like a month from now. I'm happy. I'm excited."

3. Hakeem Butler had several nice catches in his first full practice. The 6'5 WR has played in the NFL, CFL, and was named Offensive Player of the Year in the UFL this spring. "The only thing I can ask for is an opportunity," Butler said. "What I do with it from here is on me."

4. Don't sleep on TE Tanner Hudson's value. The QBs trust him, and he's also the emergency long snapper. "He's one of those guys that bounces around fighting to make a team," said Jake Browning. "Then all of a sudden he plays, and I had all the confidence in the world in him"

5. Imagine being a defensive back when 6'8, 340 pound Amarius Mims pulls and starts rumbling in your direction. "He has traits that could lead to greatness for a number of years," said Dave Lapham. "This guy is so special physically – it's remarkable."
